And i love the references to 80s films that are thrown in.see if you can figure out which ones they are. God ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ help me this is the longest review I've ever written and my brain is actually so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ numb from just ATTEMPTING to finish this game because it's been in my library since 2014. This game reminds me SO much of Castlevania. During this part we complete Pyros quest and receive fire magic, we learn our true objective and then we rescue a doll from a vicious puppy. I think this game may actually have been written by a 12-year-old with the main character being a self-insert. Trap 1 is a lever trap that will drop a long row of stones on the players. And let me tell you, every part of the writing is meant to be comedy. Like this dev legitimately should never have been allowed to be successful enough to make a sequel just off game design alone.Īnd the HUMOR? Do you like ♥♥♥♥ jokes? Fart jokes? How about constant referential humor? No? Well ♥♥♥♥, you wont laugh a single time playing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, and neither did I. Nah, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ takes 3 seconds per potion you have - while you're taking damage ticks. The boss of the library will make you empty all your potions "Oh, that's not too bad!" You may say, sure it hurts to lose all your potions, but that's it. The Sewers - (-3, -4) Lights: 3 Barrels: None Enemies: None Chests: None Notes: The old goblin who gives you the Ferns in the Darkness quest is here along with a fern for the quest. Just kill me instead of stretching out this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Exploring the area? As fun as any metroidvania style game - fun, exciting! What will I find? Learning the bosses stupid as ♥♥♥♥ hidden mechanics? Please ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kill me. They're boring and spongy and provided you don't mind concentrating on slight movements while standing in very obvious safe zones for 15 minutes an attempt, you'll be fine. The bosses are not difficult in any technical manner - they're just mind numbing. In the midst of an RPG, he was teleported to a castle. But I'm not having fun and I suspect there's way too much of this game left for me to want to drag myself to the end.e He was a great videogame player, a big fan of sci-fi movies, and a novice RPG player. Maybe it's the juvenile writing or the forced references and memes? Maybe it's the ponderously slow traversal of the levels or the tedious combat? Maybe it's the boring fetch quests that send you all over the place with no indication of whether or not it's actually necessary to complete? Maybe it's the various crafting stations and shops being spread out to random corners of the map or killing 25 bats and not getting a single wing to drop so you can craft a basic healing potion? Maybe it's the clunky UI and the layers upon layers of confusing RPG systems? Maybe it's stumbling around in the dark getting impaled on barely visible traps or unavoidably poisoned by snakes camping at the top of ladders like it's an NES game? This is playable if you can get past all the weirdness and I guess it's more accessible than Maze of Gallious from which it cribs heavily. There's something about this game I just don't like.
